At the beginning of the millenium, I began several
yearly expeditions to Alaska. First, I had a free ticket to Alaska in
April of 2000, and pushed to see how much I could experience in 3 days.
Then, in late June of 2001, I took a trip to visit Alaska's newest residents:
my sister and her husband. A year later in June of 2002, I joined all of the
Peters-East family in Alaska for a longer vacation. Though the three trips
were separated by only a few months each year, they all
offered very different pictures of Alaska — one snow
covered, one under summer solstice, and one filled with the sea. Below are
